Late Arrival / Early Dismissal Procedures-Schedules
If schools must be closed due to weather or any other such circumstance, decisions will be made by 5:00 AM. In the event of a school closing, we will inform families and staff through our automated communication system (Robocall), our district website, our district social media page (Facebook), and the local media. District Office Staff will be contacted by their Supervisor in the event of District Office Closures.
All after-school activities or events are cancelled/postponed. Any emergency staff required to report in person will be contacted by their supervisor.
These decisions are based on consultations with local and state government agencies. The safety of the Terrebonne Parish School District is at the heart of all decisions.
We will implement either a two or three-hour delayed opening plan. In the event of a delayed opening, all students and employees will report based on the appropriate schedule.
For example, if the district calls for a two-hour delayed opening:
An employee who normally reports to work at 7:30 a.m. will report at 9:30 a.m.
A student who reports to the bus stop at 7:05 a.m. will report at 9:05 a.m.
A school that starts at 8:00 a.m. will start at 10:00 a.m.
In the event of a delayed opening, we will inform families and staff through our automated communication system (Robocall), our district website, our district social media page (Facebook), and the local media. There is a possibility that schools will not serve breakfast. Schools will resume their normal schedule with lunch being served at regular times. Dismissals will be during regular bell times.
These decisions are based on consultations with local and state government agencies. The safety of the Terrebonne Parish School District is at the heart of all decisions.
While it is the District's intent to give as much notice as possible, we will give at least a one-hour notice unless circumstances dictate otherwise. In the event that we must close schools early, we will inform families and staff through our automated communication system (Robocall), our district website, our district social media page (Facebook), and the local media.. Emergency contacts will be notified if a student is on campus for more than 30 minutes after dismissal time.
In the event of an early dismissal, the dismissal order will be as follows:
Once the decision is announced, the school dismissals will follow the schedules below. All after-school events and activities will be cancelled/postponed. Employees will dismiss as soon as all students exit the building. Central Office/District Offices will close as necessary to protect the safety of all employees.
These decisions are based on consultations with local and state government agencies. The safety of the Terrebonne Parish School District is at the heart of all decisions.
